Meet Creative Team Member poki
Phyllis, aka poki, is one of the most enthusiastic of my CT. She is always ready to help in any way she can, and her talent is amazing! poki thrives on color; one look at her layouts says it all – she is consumed with the joy of nature and all the colors of the rainbow. She is also a talented photographer and I am thrilled she includes her flower photos with my collections.
By the way, that lowercase p is not a typo; it is her trademark.
Q&A with poki
Q: How long have you been digitally scrapbooking?
Q: How did you get started?
A: I was frustrated by my inability to complete albums in paper, and digital was faster and cleaner! I made my first pages in MS Word!
Q: What can I expect to see in your pages?
A: I do some family photos, but I am primarily a landscape photographer. My favorite models are butterflies and wildflowers.
Q: What is your scrapping style?
Q: What program do you use and what do you like about it?
A: PhotoShop Elements 12 – but will be upgrading soon with a new computer (It will also be PhotoShop Elements). I moved to PSE from Corel’s Paint Shop Pro in order to do templates the “easy” way by clipping papers or photos to the shapes in the template. I love to start with a template for photo placement, but “make them my own’.
Q: How long have you been a creative team member?
A: My first CT job was on a store’s team (the store is gone now) in 2011. I started with PBS in 2013 … I knew Patty from a store’s team we were both on. I’ve been with OTFD since the beginning of the partnership. I started with ADB in 2017.
Q: Who are a few of your favorite designers & what is it you like about their work?
A: Of course I love PBS, OTFD, and ADB … variety of elements and add-ons. (I especially love their flower and foliage work … it’s one of the first things I look for). I love templates from Sherwood Studio (unfortunately she is deceased now but she was a master of photo placement.
Q: What is your “go to” store when you purchase products?
A: Go Digital Scrapbooking
Q: Do you participate in challenges?
A: Yes, at Gingerscraps & Go Digital Scrapbooking.
Q: What is one thing you do really well?
A: My clusters always get compliments in the galleries
Q: How do you spend your time when you aren’t scrapbooking?
A: Photography, manage my church’s kitchen (host lots of events there), and I love to travel!
