HELLO!  Nice To Meet You!

I’m a retired IT Manager who loves digital scrapbooking design, genealogy research, sewing doll clothes, reading books and binge-watching Highlander.   I am a Kansas girl, I was born in Council Grove and grew up in Emporia, Kansas. Though a big portion of my adult life took me to Wyoming, I have returned to the midwest and now live happily on a 5-acre wooded property in Blair, Nebraska with my retired professional photographer husband and two English setters and one “killer” kitty.  Our children are grown; our beautiful daughter lives about an hour away with our sweet granddaughter, and our super smart son and his super smart fiancee are moving back to Omaha this summer. It will be exciting to have them near again!

After I retired from the corporate world I joined my husband, working in his portrait studio as general office manager AND graphic designer.  I also spent hours and hours working on my family history and learning genealogy skills. I discovered digital scrapbooking and saw immediately how it could help me record the research I was doing, in a beautiful way that others would appreciate and find easier to relate to than the traditional “family record sheets” and other genealogy paperwork.

Soon I was creating family history pages and yet I was not satisfied with many of the scrapbooking collections available. Most of them did not suit my vintage and romantic inclinations, nor did they lend themselves well to heritage layouts.  I started designing to fill that need and joined the wonderful team of like-minded designers at Heritage Scrap (sadly, now closed).

I have learned much and continue to grow professionally and artistically. I have made enduring friendships with designers and customers around the world. I do not get to spend as much time as I want on genealogy but the time I do spend is more exciting with the ongoing improvements made to online databases! It is an exciting time and I am delighted to be where I am.

My Stores

Not only does My Memories feature the largest selection of digital scrapbook designers “under one roof” but they also offer the My Memories Suite digital scrapbook software, book and page printing, and a monthly blog train that allows you to build your own mega coordinated collection each month.

Get all the scoop about my challenges, blog hops, bi-weekly blog post, and weekly share the memories gifts here.

Gingerscraps features a monthly “Buffet” with products at 50% off from the 1st through the 5th.  Each designer creates from the same palette but we get to choose our theme.  I also host a monthly challenge.  You can learn all about my store at Gingerscraps here.

Digital Scrapbooking Studio (aka DSS or theStudio) has been one of my digital homes for many years.  There is always something fun going on.  I host the monthly color challenge and if you love a bargain, be sure to check the daily deals.  Learn more about how to get the most out of your DSS shopping experience here.

I host a series: “Documenting Your Life” on the My Memories Blog.

Once a month I share a Question or provide a
prompt to help you think of pages you should
create to tell your story and the story of your
ancestors for future generations.

With each post, I feature one of my collections and provide you with a free page starter to help you create layouts quickly.
